Nissan Terrano SUV – FrontView
BharathAutos readers know Nissan Terrano is expected to hit dealerships across India this-year itself, probably in September-2013. Earlier in June-2013, Nissan India released the sketches and revealed that its upcoming Nissan SUV is going to be christened as Terrano. Now a month later the firstever spy pictures of the Terrano SUV emerged.
These spy pictures were snapped by the IndianAutosBlog reader Mr. Gokulraj Kanagaraj, near the Chennai airport (Grand Southern Trunk Road that eventually leads to the Renault-Nissan plant in Chennai). Although the Nissan India released the sketch and showed us what the car looks like, we don’t understand why its heavily camouflaged!
Nissan Terrano SUV – SideView
From the spy pictures, one can easily make-out that the car looks similar to the sketch released by Nissan India. The front-fascia features a honeycomb grill with a unique and stylish trendy looking headlights, and also the roof-rail are seen. The model seen here is speculated to be the top-end variant featuring rear-defogger-washer-wiper and 15/16-inch alloy wheels. This test mule reveals that the Terrano has reflectors on the tailgate that look like extensions of the taillights but the Duster misses it.
On the inside, Nissan Terrano will be identical to that of Renault’s Duster except the logo on the steering wheel. Engine options will also be carried forward as seen in the Duster. And will sport the same range of petrol and diesel engine options offered on Renault Duster, with power output ranging from 85 PS to 110 PS. The rumors on the web, report that Terrano will be available only in diesel guise.
Nissan Terrano SUV – RearView
The Terrano SUV is believed to be available in four variants most probably which includes XL, XL(O), XV and XV Premium, but the colors available are yet to be announced. Unlike, the current-trend where Nissan’s are priced lower than their equivalent Renault models. The Terrano will be priced around Rs 50,000-75,000 more than the Duster, in the price range of INR 8.5-13.5 lakhs.
In the spy picture itself, the Terrano SUV looks a pretty unique and advanced. Overall, the Terrano SUV seems like a good combination of luxury, space, engine performance, safety, style and sturdiness and just looking a little down in its fuel economy and a little steep price range.
