It seems our friends at AutoAdrenalin (Facebook), has caught a nice spy shots of the upcoming Honda Brio diesel. Let me tell you guys, these are not the first spy shots of Brio diesel hatch it has been caught testing many a times in India in the past. However, Honda Brio Amaze sedan will be the first diesel Honda in India, followed by its hatch.
The folks at AutoAdrenalin, who’ve snapped up these spyshots claim that the car could indeed feature a turbo diesel engine under the hood. Their claim’s basis is a sticker on the on-test Brio’s hatchback. The sticker reads D12 and based on this, the folks at AutoAdrenalin claim that the Brio Diesel hatchback could feature a 1.2-litre turbo diesel engine.
No much details available about the 1.2-litre i-DTEC turbo diesel engine that might power the Brio hatchback at the moment. But there are fair chances of it being derived from the much publicized Honda 1.6-litre i-DTEC motor by eliminating one of the 4-cylinders. Also the 1.5-litre i-DTEC turbo diesel engine that makes way in Brio sedan, has been derived from the 1.6-litre i-DTEC engine.
Although Honda cars are priced high compared to its rivals people prefer buying Honda products because of their trust and quality. In recent times, Honda had to compromise in sales due to the lack of a diesel engine coupled with the rising petrol prices in India. But not for a long, the Brio based diesel sedan is expected to be here by the next financial year while the much awaited Brio diesel hatch will debut towards the end of 2013.
