At the launch of the Force Traveller-26 in Chennai, Force Motors officials shared some of their future plans like we will launch a multi-purpose high end van and add 2 to 3 new variants to the Force One SUV line-up. This high end MPV planned is most likely to be the old Mercedes Viano which will be manufactured under license from Daimler with few modifications.
The Viano MPV is already spotted many a times in India, now again our good friend at IndianCarsBikes has spotted the same yet again with heavy camouflage doing the testing rounds in and around the Force Motors’ plant at Chinchwad, off Pune. The Viano MPV is expected to be much bigger than the current crop of luxury MPVs like the segment king Toyota Innova and the Tata Aria.
Under the hood, it will be powered by the same 2.2-litre four cylinder Daimler derived common rail turbo diesel engine that currently powers the Force One. This engine produces a peak power of 140 Bhp and a peak torque of 320 Nm and is mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. This diesel engine is built by Force Motors under license from Mercedes Benz. The engine makes a lot for sense for such an application.
Force Motors has 3 upcoming products on its pipeline, the company might launch their vehicle in a phase manner. In the first phase the company is expected to launch 2 or 3 variants on their passenger SUV Force One (probably with 4WD & ABS option). In the next phase the company might launch the 2013 Force Trax Gurkha 4WD SUV followed by the launch Force Motors’ Mercedes Viano luxury MPV sometime in December 2013.
