Spied – New Mahindra Bolero ZLX

Mahindra Bolero ZLX

India’s bestselling MUV, the Mahindra Bolero might get refreshed soon. A facelifted model of this popular MUV has been spotted by one of the AutocarIndia reader, named T S Vipul took the pictures at Mahindra’s Haridwar facility. From the images, it is quite evident that the facelifted Bolero is quite comprehensive to say the least.

In its latest iteration, Mahindra will add a new variant called the ZLX in the Bolero lineup.  The refreshed Bolero gets a slightly revised grille which is now done in a grey shade. The current version has the grille painted in body colour.  The front bumper also gets a slightly tweaked look. The updated Bolero will have a rear-wiper with a defroster to meet future CMVR (Central Motor Vehicle Rules); however there are no fog lamps and no alloy wheels though.

The new Bolero ZLX interiors are where the major changes are evident; the plastics are now beige in colour, there is an all-new digital instrument console, with an LED display for the speedometer, fuel gauge and engine temperature. The steering wheel too is new, and is now wrapped in leather, with a new aluminium finish bottom spoke. The overall quality of plastics within the cabin remains similar to the current version although the center console now sports a wood finish panel.

The refreshed Bolero powered by a 2.5 Liter 97 Bhp-250 Nm CRDe engine that serves the current top-of-the-line Bolero VLX. Also, will the Bolero ZLX’s CRDe engine come with the micro hybrid technology is something that isn’t known at this moment. However, the increased mileage of the lesser powered CRDI engine should be the big selling point for the facelifted Bolero.

The new Bolero ZLX variant that has been scooped seems like the top of the line variant, with plenty of bells and tinkles in the interiors as well. The new ZLX version with a few more features may sell for a few thousand rupees more and will hit the streets very shortly.
