More spyshots of yet to be launched motorcycles are caught in recent times, this time of the Royal Enfield Himalayan, thanks to Rushlane for the spy pictures.
The Himalayan is speculated to be launched in 2 variants – one with a raised front suspension and comes with off-road friendly equipment (featuring heightened fork, high-mounted front mud guard, fuel tank protector, windscreen and luggage carrier). The second variant is an city-friendly version seen here in the spy pictures featuring a regular front fork and scrambler styled-body.
Both the variants feature a circular headlamp, new fuel tank, spoke wheels of varying diameter, split seats, an LED taillight, an exposed chassis, rear mono-shock, slanted exhaust, on-off road tyres and an exposed chassis. The Himalayan is based on a completely new frame that was engineered by a Royal Enfield-owned UK-based chassis specialist named Harris Performance.
Here, an all-new 410 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine is expected. This unit is said to produce around 28 PS and 32 Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed transmission and will be more refined with lesser vibrations. Once launched, Royal Enfield Himalayan adventure tourer will benefit the first mover’s advantage, and a complete monopoly in the Indian medium displacement motorcycle segment.
According to reports, Royal Enfield Himalayan is expected to make debut at Rider Mania scheduled in Goa later this month.
