Renault has tasted success with the Renault Duster which is basically a rebadged Dacia Duster. Dacia is the budget brand of Renault like their partner, Nissan has Datsun. So the Duster has been facin a bit of a competition lately, courtesy the Ford EcoSport and the word on the street is that Renault might just facelift the Duster to get back the lot sales.
But the facelift do not come in easy and the company plans on launching the facelifted Duster at the Geneva Motor Show. But you need to keep the buzz going around the current model before its phased out and in order to do that, the Duster has got itself a limited edition variant, back in Belgium where it is known as the Dacia Duster.
Duster has been give the ‘Adventure Edition’ branding and the car will be exclusive to the Dacia Cherry Club members initially. It is a club which comprises of Duster owners and it publishes newsletters and holds events for them. The limited edtion car gets 16 inch ‘black shiny’ wheel rims, new skid plates at the front and rear and tinted rear quarter panels.
The windows get tinted as well and Duster Adventure stickers adorn the hood and the trunk of the car. A Garmin 350LM with GPS is present as well and you get additional removable ramp lights for the roof of your Duster. Dacia will build a limited number of these for sure and we believe that Renault should give the Duster “Adventure Edition” treatment in India as well to reduce the effect of the launch of the Ford EcoSport.
