Nissan India with the success its hatch Micra, Now company will rollout a real boom in the C-segment, by making their presence. The Honda City, Volkswagen Vento, Hyundai Verna and Maruti SX4 are fighting out for market share in the upper end of the C-Segment, where the new 2011 Ford Fiesta is expected to join this month.
The Nissan global sedan is called ‘Sunny’ in certain markets of the world. The new Global sedan is based on the Micra platform and will be built from our existing plant at Chennai. The car will be launched in petrol and diesel engine options. Thus the company has announced the launch of its new global sedan by December, 2011. The company plans to increase its dealership network from 36 to 100 by the end of the year.
The Nissan Sunny could be priced in the Rs 7 -9 lakh bracket and could also feature a diesel engine. The 1.5 DCi Common Rail Diesel Engine tuned for use in the sedan could be lined-up by the company.
Nissan will come out with the first multi-purpose vehicle through our joint venture with Ashok Leyland in 2012, said Tokuyama, adding that other products which are also in pipeline will be unveiled in due course of time.
With the new sedan and MPV Nissan will have products in all the segments.
