Maruti Suzuki may introduce the second-generation Celerio hatchback (codenamed: YNC) in October this-year, according to a media report.
The study also notes that the car would be based on the Heartect architecture, underpinning the WagonR, too. Compared to the outgoing model it is expected to be larger in size and may have a longer wheelbase too.
Earlier this-month, the new Celerio was caught testing and the car appears to have a greater footprint in the spy photos. The test car also had alloy wheels that seemed larger in size and appeared identical to the 16-inch wheels offered on the Baleno.
The new Maruti Celerio will also get a redesigned interior, and the SmartPlay Studio touchscreen infotainment head-unit will be fitted with higher models.
The study also notes that Maruti would offer 1.0-liter and 1.2-liter petrol engine options to the new Celerio, while transmission choices may include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT.
