Mercedes-Benz to launch BMW X6 competitor in 2015

German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has confirmed “an entirely new Mercedes-Benz model” that will roll off production lines by 2015. Also, the new crossover coupe will take on the BMW X6 and will be built in the United States of America.

Daimler AG CEO Dieter Zetsche said in a statement that the new model will be one of 10 vehicles Mercedes will introduce over the next 4 years.

According to reports Mercedes Benz has invested considerably in the Tuscaloosa, Alabama plant almost $350 million where this new SUV will be manufactured. Production of the new models will start in 2015 and will create an additional 400 jobs. The production of the MLC is part of an investment worth more than $2 billion in the company’s Alabama plant.

While no details were provided on the model, sources say that the fifth model will be a coupe-like version of the M-Class SUV. The model will be called the MLC and will keep against the BMW X6.

If we talk about the Indian Market BMW has been very successful in India. Here it has beaten Mercedes-Benz even after being a late entrant into the fray. The car maker sells the BMW X6 in India and soon expectation is that the new Mercedes-Benz MLC may also make its way into Indian luxury car market.
