Internationally, the Mercedes-Benz B-Class has been a regular feature on roads for a while now, and is best described as a larger A-Class vehicle that shares engine and suspension. Both vehicle variants are the only front wheel drive (FWD) cars from the star brand.
The Mercedes-Benz Compact Sports Tourer was launched in the European and Canadian auto markets back in 2005. Plans to take the car to the US auto market through Mexico had been revised keeping in mind global economic conditions, but this year could change all that. What’s exciting now is that the vehicle will be launched in India soon. Their entry in a new segment will widen their scope to boost sales volume, which is the need of the hour.
Mercedes-Benz will price their B-class compact Sports Tourer for the Indian auto market below Rs. 25 lakhs, making it the most affordable car from Merc stable. Standing at a length of 4.3 meters will but obviously make the vehicle easy to park, manoeuvre, and handle. The Mercedes-Benz B class compact Sports Tourer comes to India as completely knocked down (CKD) units and will be assembled at their Chakan plant near Pune.
