Maruti Suzuki requests existing bookings to upgrade to the 2011 Swift

2011 Suzuki Swift

India’s top car maker Maruti Suzuki, in a circular sent out to dealers asks them to give customers the choice of upgrading to the new Swift which hits the market next month. To ensure that customers who have booked the current Maruti Swift do not have to go make fresh bookings in case they are interested in the new model, Maruti has asked its dealers to give customers the choice of shifting their existing bookings to the new Swift. Maruti incidentally has stopped producing the old Swift and has already started production of the new Swift model.

Unconfirmed reports suggest the new Swift may carry a slight premium compared to the existing model priced at Rs 3.9-5.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). “Dealers will contact the consumers who have booked the Swift and aprise them of the offer,” said an industry source.

According to a Business Standard report, the new model will have more features and better comfort than the present generation Swift. The car will also be roomier, lighter and return better mileage. The diesel variant of the Swift will be available with all the bells and whistles as Maruti will be launched a ZDi variant this time around.
