India’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India is going to try their luck once again in the MPV segment of the Indian auto industry. This new MPV in the images here, which is named as RIII will be launched by the end this year, designed to accommodate the traditional large Indian family which we think will make it enough to accommodate 7 adults including the driver.
Maruti is yet to officially reveal any detail on RIII. The new MPV is stretched the wheelbase to 2740mm which is 380mm more than that of the Ritz, The length of the RIII at 4265mm is well over the critical four-metre length, which means that the RIII won’t qualify for a small-car excise cut and they have also added an additional rear overhang.
BA readers already know the tech specs of Maruti’s all-new RIII MPV, that it will be available in petrol and as well as diesel variants. The petrol engine will be powered by a new 1.4L K series engine variant which generates 87 bhp and 130 Nm torque, while the diesel RIII will be powered by the same 1.3L MultiJet which features in the Swift diesel variant.
