Mahindra 2-Wheelers Ltd has recently won 3 awards at the prestigious ‘CMO Asia presents Star of the Industry – Manufacturing Excellence Awards 2013’ held in Singapore. The company won awards in 3 different categories including, ‘Best in Class CSR Award in Manufacturing Sector’, ‘Best in Class Safety Excellence Award’ and ‘Best in Class Carbon Footprint Award’.

Mahindra 2-Wheelers’ state of the art manufacturing facility is located at Pithampur, near Indore in Madhya Pradesh. The plant incorporates ISO 9001 processes & product certification from DNV, and manufactures the class defining Mahindra Centuro motorcycle along with our other products in the two wheeler segment.
The Centuro has truly innovative features including an Anti Theft Alarm with Engine Immobiliser, encrypted Remote Flip Key, Find Me Lamps and Guide Lamps for greater visibility. It also offers an advanced Digital Dashboard with a Distance–to-Empty (DTE) indicator, Service Reminder and Economy Mode indicator.
Sustainability is an integral part of operations at Mahindra 2-Wheelers where the risk assessment process is focused on reducing the carbon footprint during manufacturing operations and the product design process. The company also focuses on conservation of natural resources, maximum use of renewable energy and adopting green and safe technology.
Mahindra 2-Wheelers’ CSR programme aims to be Innovative, Integrated, Adaptable, Challenging and Inspires change. The company’s Pithampur plant has implemented a project called ‘A Helping Hand, Towards Rising India’ which includes several social activities in the field of Education, Health and Environment. The project aims to contribute to the development of India by providing a helping hand to the deprived. This activity includes various social programmes including Shiksha Abhiyan, Jeevan Sanrakshan, Pariyawaran Sanrakshan, Serve and Inspire, etc.
Safety, Health, Environment, Emergency and Disaster planning is an integral part of the overall loss control program at the company and is essential for any well-run organization. Mahindra 2-Wheelers has implemented a robust SHE (Safety, Health and Environment) management system consisting of various elements, including leadership, employee involvement, change management, occupational health and industrial hygiene, environment management, construction safety, road safety, chemical safety, disaster management, SHE auditing and Hazards Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA).
The criteria used to judge the Awards included Mind Share, Market Share and Commitment Share. Various prestigious organizations from India participated in these awards.
