The latest addition in a top Lamborghini collector’s arsenal

The association between Zagato and Lamborghini goes back to the year 1965. The Italian auto manufacturing giant had used the Lamborghini 350 GT’s platform to create a pair of special 3500 GTZ models. And now this partnership is in its new chapter where Lamborghini 5-95 Zagato was introduced in Italy at the 2014 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.

This new car has been designed on the same platform as the Lamborghini Gallardo. The Lamborghini 5-95 Zagato was commissioned by one of the top Lamborghini collectors Albert Spiess. This awesome car flaunts the coach-building expertise of Zagato who will be celebrating their 95th anniversary this year.

As far as the mechanics of the Lamborghini 5-95 Zagato are concerned, no changes have been introduced. The car will be powered by a 5.2 L V10 engine that can produce a power output of 562 HP and a peak torque of 398 pound-feet. The Lamborghini 5-95 Zagato will feature all-wheel drive.

The car can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in merely 3 second. It promises the top speed of 200 mph. In terms of exteriors, the car features 1996 Lamborghini Raptor Zagato inspired floating spoiler at its front. The front air intakes are concealed by carbon fiber firewall. To lend a sportier profile to the car, the rear section comes with a truncated tail. Lamborghini Raptor Zagato will also feature a new grille. The black painted pillars give a floating roof look to the car.

Albert Spiess has stated that he was always an admirer of Zagato. He believes that what makes Lamborghini 5-95 Zagato a special and fundamental part of his collection is its perfect combination of excellent technology and nature inspired design. Spiess also owns 2012 Aston Martin V12 Zagato, 1990 Alfa Romeo S.Z. and 1985 Aston Martin V8 Zagato. With Lamborghini Raptor Zagato, the collection is definitely an enviable one.
