Hey, remember the Lamborghini Veneno? Of course you do…I mean, who could forget an insanely radical uber-hypercar like the Lamborghini Veneno. Just look at it. And if you thought it couldn’t get any more ridiculous, word in the rumor mill is that Lamborghini is even working on a drop-top version.

The Roadster version will look pretty much identical to its coupe brother, so no chance for it to drop that crazy exterior look. The only difference will be the car’s roof, which we expect to be a two-piece unit made from carbon fiber, like in the Aventador Roadster.

Under the hood, the roadster will use the same engines as the the Veneno Coupe, meaning it will feature an Aventador-sourced 6.5-liter V12 engine that developed 750 HP (552 kW). It enabled the model to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and hit a top speed of 355 km/h (220 mph).

It’s a bit gaudy considering that the Veneno’s price tag is equally as ridiculous for what seems to be little handy work. But either way, a convertible version may be on its way, according to Topspeed.com.

Only three Lamborghini Veneno coupes were built, costing around $3.9 million each. But trusted sources on the web, suggest that up to nine different roadsters could be made and expect the convertible to be priced little bit more.
