We’ve been hearing about Jaguar’s upcoming BMW 3-Series competitor but apparently the British, Indian-owned automaker has no plans to stop there. According to AutoExpress, Jaguar is also looking at a premium hatchback that will go head-to-head with the likes of the BMW 1-Series and the Audi A3.
Apparently Adrian Hallmark, Jaguar’s global brand directory, has already talked about the 1-Series.AutoExpress quotes him saying: “We won’t have a 1-Series-sized car for five to 10 years, but we’re working on some compelling alternative bodystyles that are anti-German luxury car establishment.”
5 to 10 years? Well, that’s more than enough time to give the BMW 1-Series and the Audi A3 to eat up the hatchback market share.
