Hyundai India finally launched ‘Eon’ today. Hyundai Eon base model costs Rs.2.69 lakhs (ex showroom Delhi) while top end (Sports) costs Rs.3.71 lakhs, its available in six variants. Hyundai Eon has been specially designed to capture Indian market.
Eon project head YH Song said this project took Four years and 900 crore rupees in development process. This sporty design was a result of Hyundai along with the National Institute of Design. It is said that over a thousands of engineer’s have worked under this project.
Hyundai Eon as been priced to take on Maruti Suzuki Alto. Its spacious interior’s, huge luggage space, fantastic exterior design also take war against Wagon R and Chevrolet Spark. Eon is powered by 815cc petrol engine that develops 56PS and 76.5 Nm of torque with incredible fuel economy of 21.1 kmpl.
Eon bookings as already been started earlier with positive response. Aravind Saxena from Hyundai motors is very confident with launch of Eon, he also added that there is no plans to stop production of Hyundai Santro which is priced at similar range.
