Honda two-wheelers India have now teased their upcoming product launch for the market. It is said to be a premium offering which will cater to the higher end of the two-wheeler space. The teaser also announced the date on which the covers will come off the product, which is on 30 September.
The teaser starts with the tagline “Your highness is arriving on”, with the date and time (11:55 am) of its launch. It is being speculated that the product in question will be the updated version of one of Honda’s most expensive products available here, the Goldwing. Honda may likely be giving the Goldwing a BS-VI update to adhere to the current norms.
The official India website of the company lists the BS-IV Goldwing, which might be changed come 30 September. However, it is still not confirmed and it is all up to Honda and their team to reveal what will be the product in question soon. The one hint which indicates that of a premium offering is the fact that Honda will be keen on making a mark on that end of the market.
Honda had revealed last year that there will be an aggressive growth plan on behalf of them for two-wheeler enthusiasts across the country. This includes a renewed interest in focusing on the premium spaces of the market. Honda will in turn look to double its premium product portfolio upto 13 during the coming fiscal year.
At present, it consists of models such as the CBR650R, CB1000R, Fireblade, Africa Twin and lastly the Goldwing. Barring the Africa Twin, none of them have been given the BS-VI update. The Fireblade will be the next to get it soon as Honda had already started to collect bookings for the updated model.
Honda had also said of their plans to introduce as many as 5 new “Fun” models for our market. These could include updates of the current model line-up in the premium segments along with a few forthcoming products. The current line-up coming between the 300cc-1800cc space will also be given their respective updates soon.
The new launches will further cement Honda’s presence in the premium spectrum, thus making them the company having the highest number of offerings there. Most of the models will be picked from Honda’s international stables, which is a good sign for our market. At the moment, Honda will be concentrating on 30 September and like them, even we would be excited to know about what would be happening on that day.
