The Indian two-wheeler market is getting flooded with bikes in the 200cc to 300cc segment and this has benefited to both, the old market players like the Honda and Bajaj as well as the new entrants like KTM in the Indian bike market. May it be fully owned or with a partnership with other company, but every manufacturer has launched a product in the premium segment to lure the customers. Although, there is one name missing in the list, and that is Hero MotoCorp, which is one of the top 2-wheeler manufacturer and seller globally.

There has been no addition to Hero motorcycle line-up after the separation from Honda except for the Impulse, which has not been able to impress a huge crowd. But the recent spy shots, gives us a clear indication that Hero is all-set to be a part of the current trend in the premium bike segment. So far there is no hint of the exact technical specification from Hero. The test mules are well camouflaged, but by looking at the body line and the styling one can make out the resemblance to Karizma.

The other details like the fairing, clip-on handle bar, alloy footrest, a small tapered mudguard at rear and the broader tyre are seen clearly. Also, as we can see there are two bikes with different rear brake configuration, one has the rear disc layout whereas the other has the conventional drum brake layout. Most of the manufacturers have adopted the monoshock suspension system for their bikes in this segment, but as we can see in the pictures both the bikes have the gas-charged two spring suspension at the rear.

If the tests yield a positive result Hero may launch its bikes in the festive season by the end of this year.
