One of the most celebrated American muscle car Ford Mustang was showcased at the Auto Expo 2016, and whats even more exciting is that the car will be launched in India in the second quarter of 2016. Debuted in 1964 the ongoing model is the 6th generation of the Mustang.
After almost 50 years in production this will be the first right handed Mustang GT and will be imported to as a CBU unit from the United Kingdom. In India, Mustang GT will only be offered in the top range 5.0 l Ti-VCT V8 engine and it will come with the performance pack as a standard which is available as an option internationally. The performance pack mainly comprises of features like 19-inch tyres, six-piston front brake calipers, 380 mm rotors, a strut bar and front splitter.
The naturally aspirated Ford V8 produces a massive 435 hp of power and 542 Nm of max torque. The power is tranmitted via Ford’s 6-Speed SelectShift automatic, with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters. It also comes equipped with Selectable Drive Modes (SDM), allowing users to toggle easily between normal, snow/wet, sport and track modes to quickly adjust steering effort, engine response, transmission as well as electronic stability control settings.
On the exterior of the Mustang the nose and rear gets an aggressive look, the bulging bonnet and the sharp wheel arches along with wide shoulders, raked roofline gives the Mustang a muscular look. The vehicle gets headlamps with LED tri-bar tail-lamps with sequential turn signals and dual exhaust pipes as standard.
The interior of the Mustang GT is designed based on the aviation theme and is equipped with toggle switches, large dial on the instrument cluster and three AC vents on the centre console. Additional features like Ford’s SYNC 2 connectivity system with navigation, push button start, passive keyless entry, power folding mirrors, rear camera, etc.. are also a part of package on offer.
