Diesel price hiked by Rs 1.09 per litre, after polling ends

diesel-price-hiked-after-polling-endsOil companies on Monday hiked diesel prices by Rs 1.09 per litre excluding taxes and will come into effect from midnight tonight.

With the hike to come effective from Tuesday, diesel in Delhi will now cost Rs 56.71 (inclusive of tax), while in Kolkata it will cost Rs 61.38, a hike of Rs 1.27 from the previous Rs 60.11.

In Mumbai, post the hike, diesel will now cost Rs 65.21 compared to the previous Rs 63.86, a hike of Rs 1.35 while in Chennai diesel will now cost Rs 60.50, a hike of Rs 1.32 from the previous price of Rs 59.18.

Earlier on April 1 and May 1, oil PSUs IOC, BPCL and HPCL had skipped the monthly small increases as per the decision taken by the Cabinet in January-2013.
