General Motors India is all set to launch its much expected Chevrolet Beat Diesel in India soon. 2011 Chevrolet Beat Diesel will feature a 1.0 litre three cylinder, turbocharged common rail diesel engine pumping out about 57 Bhp and 140 Nm of torque.
General Motors India’s president and managing director recently has said that the new 2011 Chevrolet Beat Diesel would costlier by 10-15% of its petrol variant. Chevrolet is currently testing the Beat Diesel version in India and also been spotted many times. The company might want to achieve a very good mileage figure to counter attack the Indica eV2 which claims 25 KMPL.
Add the 3-year free maintenance package for its mini cars which make the cars more value for the buck. If General Motors can tell the people what the benefits of buying a Chevrolet Beat diesel are, there is no reason why it can’t draw customers from Hyundai and Maruti showrooms.
Once Chevrolet Beat Diesel is launched in India, it will surely help GM India to increase their numbers and help them grow as a market in lead in that segment. Chevrolet Beat Diesel would be manufactured in the Talegaon manufacturing plant in Pune and this plant can manufacture 1.60 lakh units Chevrolet Beat Diesel in a year.
