Head-up folks, the new BMW G 310R is now in Chennai, India. It just confirms what we already know, of course, as we’ve already seen at Auto Expo earlier this-year. Further the unconfirmed report states that the BMW G 310 R is scheduled to launch by Diwali-2016 in India.
Powered by a 313cc, single-cylinder, liquid cooled engine that develops 34 BHP @ 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of torque @ 7,500 rpm mated to a 6-speed unit. Weighing just 158.5 kgs (kerb weight), the G 310R claims a mileage of 36.05 KMPL and a top speed of 144 KMPH. The G 310 R will compete against the likes of the KTM RC 390 and 390 Duke, Yamaha R3, and Kawasaki Ninja 300R.
The entry-level performance motorcycle from BMW Motorrad, the G 310 R has been designed in Germany but will be manufactured in India by TVS Motor Company as part of a JV signed 3 years ago. MADE-IN-INDIA BMW G 310 R will not only be on-sale in India, but also of that in Europe and South East Asia.
In Malaysia, although BMW Motorrad hasn’t announced any fix date of launch for the G 310R, the bookings are started at a refundable amount of RM 300 (close to Rs. 5,000). There prices are expected to range between RM 25,000 – RM 30,000 (Rs. 4.11 lakh – Rs. 4.92 lakh). However in India, the G 310R will be priced around Rs. 3 lakh. The BMW G310R has not been launched in any market worldwide.
