Audi introduced a new concept at the Beijing Auto Show in April-2014, which hints at an off-road–or should we say “all-road”- version of the brand’s signature TT Sports Coupe.
2014 Audi TT Off-Road Concept chance of entering production-high!
As indicated by the name, the 2014 Audi TT Off-Road Concept is essentially a compact SUV crossover built to match the sporty intent of the original TT, except with Audi’s “all-road” capability.
Audi described that the new model has a realistic chance of entering production, but the automaker’s Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg said that it provides a “glimpse of how we might imagine a new model in a future TT family.”
It’s propelled by a plug-in hybrid drive with two electric motors assisting a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged TFSI engine with two electric motors to give a combined power output of 300 kW and 650 Nm of torque. The battery pack gives the car a range of 50 km on all-electric mode. To encourage the use of the plug-in hybrid drive, the TT Concept also sports the brand’s new Audi Wireless Charging technology for inductive charging.
