Tata Motors will start to produce Electric vehicles for the Indian market, with customer preferences for electric vehicles growing automaker by time. The automaker is readying various models in electric, one of them will be the Tigor electric. Recently, the car was spotted on the outskirts of Mumbai.
The car was not wrapped in camouflage and was under going its testing phase. It may be scheduled for a launch in 2019, even with its sibling, the Tiago Electric. The Tigor electric is under going production in Tata Motors Sanand plant in Gujarat.
Tata is expected to give the Tigor electric a three-phase AC induction motor. It will provide a 30KW electric motor propulsion motor to the Tigor electric. The Tigor electric will meet the criteria given by the government for its order of EV’s and is expected to do approximately 130 km on a single charge, yet attaining a top speed of 100 KMPH.
As far as prices are concerned, the Tigor electric is expected to be priced marginally higher than the original Tigor. It will rival the Mahindra eVerito electric, which is currently the only electric sedan on sale here. We can expect the Tigor electric to give a better performance compared to the Tigor and be affordable.
