Tata Motors has introduced a new range-topping variant of the Zest and it is called XTA. In simple words, the XTA is basically the XT variant with loaded features equipped to the AMT gearbox.
Twin airbags, reverse parking sensors & alloy wheels will be other additions to the XTA.
Earlier only one variant of Zest AMT version coupled to the diesel Quadrajet engine was available – XMA. Now with the Zest XTA, the customer can opted for a car that as the AMT as well as a feature loaded car in a single package. Priced at Rs. 8.07 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), this is the most expensive variant in the Zest range. Compared to the XMA, the XTA costs Rs. 82,000 more.
The XTA gets 5-inch touch screen from Harman-Kardon fame.
What’s new on the Zest XTA? Well, it gets all the features of the XMA variant plus 5-inch Harman-Kardon touch screen audio system will be standard, along with eight-speaker (4 speakers and 4 tweeters) that offer better audio output. Twin airbags, reverse parking sensors and alloy wheels are other additional features. There are no other changes made to the model.
The mechanicals remain unchanged.
Powering the XTA AMT variant will be the same the 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engine with a variable geometry turbocharger churning out 90 Bhp and 200 Nm of torque mated to 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). The car delivers 21.58 kmpl, under mandated test kmpl in normal conditions and has a top speed of 158 kmph.
