Korean-manufacturer Hyosung has confirmed that it will launch the quarter-litre, single-cylinder, 250 cc GD250R in the Indian market much likely by end of 2015. Although the company already had GT250R, Hyosung has confirmed that it will launch the GD250R mainly targeting the Indian customers who are cost conscious. Instead of the dual cylinder boost found in GT250R, the upcoming GD250R features a single cylinder set-up.
Hyosung GD 250R draws heavy inspiration from Ducati 1199 Panigale with sharp fairing and edgy looks.
The upcoming GD250R features projector headlights, underbelly exhausts, inverted front suspensions, side mounted rear suspension, petal disc brake setup at the front and rear unlike dual disc frontal brakes found in GT250R. The GD250R is expected to be priced between INR 2-2.3 lakhs in the Indian market.
Coming to the technical specifications, the GD250R would be powered by a 249 cc, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled mono-cylinder engine mated to a 6 speed gear box producing a maximum power of 28 PS at 9,500 RPM and at a maximum torque of 24.17 Nm of torque at 7,000 RPM. It is expected to compete the likes of KTM RC 200 and Honda CBR 250R in the Indian market.
