Toyota being the No.1 selling car in its segment in the Indian market had recently updated the premium looking Innova last year. Toyota Innova still continues to be the customer’s first preference although some described the previously updated Toyota Innova as ugly. Spy shots of the fully camouflaged 2016 Toyota Innova are already available over the cyber space from some time. The upcoming 2016 Toyota Innova was yet again spotted testing in Bangalore, near to Toyota’s production facility in Bidadi.
2016 Toyota Innova’s rear LED tail lamps revealed
The all new Innova is expected to be launched in Thailand and Indonesia by end of 2015 which later on would be launched in the Indian market by early 2016. It will be based on Toyota’s new Global Architecture (TNGA) which is also expected to be available on the all new upcoming Fortuner as well. The new Innova is expected to compete the likes of Honda Mobilio, Chevrolet Enjoy, Nissan Evalia, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Ashok Leyland Stile.
Coming to the changes, the new Innova features enormous changes to the front and rear fascia, redesigned wraparound LED tail lights in the rear, revised headlights, wider and bolder rectangular grille, new bumpers, longer wheelbase in turn providing more room especially in the third room, larger boot and it is also expected to be larger in size. In terms of technical specifications, the new Innova is expected to be powered with the new line of engines currently being developed offering better performance and improved fuel efficiency.
The current-gen model starts at a price of around INR 11 lakhs with the top-end diesel model touching the INR 18 lakh mark. For the next-gen Innova, Toyota is planning to price the model at INR 20 lakh mark for the top-end variant.
