Austrian motorcycle maker, KTM has finally launched the RC 390 and RC 200 from its Supersport series of bikes in Indian market. Price of KTM RC 200 is Rs 1.60 lakh, while RC 390 priced at Rs 2.05 lakh (both prices mentioned are ex-showroom New Delhi and are introductory).

The regular version 200 Duke is priced at Rs 1.35 lakh and price of 390 Duke is Rs 1.85 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). While the Duke cousin’s in Delhi are Rs 1.60 lakh and Rs 2.05 lakh respectively.
Under the skin, both the bikes borrow the engine from its regular versions. Similar to the 390 Duke, the RC 390 is powered by a 373.27 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that puts out 42.9 bhp @ 9000 rpm and 35 Nm of torque @ 7000 rpm. Nothing special here too, like the Duke 200, the RC 200 uses a 199.5 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled unit that develops 24.7 bhp @ 10000 rpm and 19.2 Nm @ 8000 rpm.

Both the RC series engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox and the power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a chain drive. Braking power comes from disc brakes both at the front and rear. The RC 390 gets ABS and Metzeler tyres as standard, ABS can be switched off if the rider wants, by holding a button situated on the instrument console. The RC 200 has to make do with MRF tyres and yes no ABS option. While the RC 390 weighs 166 kg, the RC 200 tips the scales at 154 kg.
Both the KTM models RC 200 and RC 390 boast of WP suspension system with inverted telescopic forks in the front and monoshocks at the rear. The duo KTM models share a host of other updates and can only be told apart due to their color themes and badges. Furthermore, for those who would like to customize, Bajaj offers two styling options – called Style and Race, as seen in the image below. Regular variants will be available in just one colour scheme, white for RC 390 and Black for RC 200.

KTM RC 200/390 gets a proper supersport look with a full body fairing and lots of racing elements. The bikes get a large wing shield, clip-on handlebars, masculine fuel tank and split seat with integrated pillion side and dual projector headlamps. It also gets the daytime running lamps (DRLs), which gives a nice touch to the overall looks of the motorcycle.
Bookings for the RC 390 and RC 200 have already commenced and deliveries will begin from next month, on first come first serve basis. Both the RC200 and RC390 is believed to have already crossed 3 months waiting period at some dealers. Currently, KTM has a network of 140 exclusive dealerships across India.
