2015 Bajaj Pulsar 150NS SpyShot
Ever since the launch of Bajaj Pulsar 200NS, there has been a speculation of the company coming-up with NS versions of Pulsar 150 and Pulsar 180. Today finally it’s confirmed, folks at Rushlane have snapped the first ever spy shots of smaller engined Pulsars at the NH4 highway near Mahabaleshwar. However, the company hasn’t revealed any details about the downsized Pulsar, but most rumours say that it will be showcased at 2014 Auto Expo next-month, alongside fully-faired Pulsar 200SS and Pulsar 375.
From the spy pictures both the motorcycle looks the same at first glimpse, but on closer look you’ll realize that they are a little different. For example, the rear mud guard, the grab rail and the design of rear seats, is different of both the bikes. Looking at spy picture, we can make out that the Pulsar 150NS gets the full rear mudguard, whereas the 180NS gets the lower-level mudguard. The Pulsar 180NS gets the split grab rail, while the 150NS gets conventional one that’s seen on smaller displacement motorcycles. The Pulsar 180NS will feature split seats, while the 150NS will come with the regular ones.

Compared to the 200NS, the 150/180NS gets a smaller front disc brake and also note the absence of rear disc brake on both the models. Chain guard that’s usually found only on the current Pulsar 150, is seen in both the test mules. The addition of the underbelly exhaust seems to be inspired from the elder 200NS. The major change is the addition of the much needed mono-shock suspension at the rear seen on both the models. It would be great, if Bajaj blesses the Pulsar 150NS and 180NS models under the skin, in the form of liquid cooling, 4-valve SOHC head and triple spark ignition. All these features are class leading that no other 150cc/180cc bike in India offers at prices below Rs. 1 lakh.
One thing that we are still confused is why Bajaj is not changing the rear of their naked sport bikes even as they receive many criticisms.
