Having enjoyed an enormous success worldwide with the Swift, Suzuki is planning to give Swift a mid-life refresh with minor changes. Although the car was scheduled to be showcased at 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show later in September-2013, the first image of 2014 Swift has been accidentally released on the official website of Suzuki Belgium.
If you were waiting for new model Swift, you will be disappointed to know that it carries hardly any facelift, both inside and outside. As seen the changes are minor with L-shaped LED daytime running lights in fog light enclosures (which are very similar to Hyundai i20), revised front bumper and changes to the exterior mirror design.
The turn indicators from the front fender have been moved to ORVM, while basic shape and side and rear designs remains untouched. The interiors too remain largely unchanged and continue with the same design as seen in its predecessor, it is understood that the company had added some exterior modifications to the upcoming model in order to distinguish it from the previous design.
Under the hood, the 2014 Suzuki Swift will also continue to be powered by the same engine 1.2-litre K-Series motor which produces 86 bhp and the 1.3-litre DDIS oil burner which makes 74 bhp both are mated to 5-speed manual transmission. Suzuki has also added a new golden colour for Swift and expect this to get into India with DRLs upgrade.
As told above, the 2014 Suzuki Swift is scheduled to make its official world debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September this-year, the sales are expected to commence in late-2013.
