The Indian Air Force station at Yelahanka, Bangalore, was witness to an awe inspiring display of sheer daredevilry and outstanding team work, when 54 brave and skilled men of the Indian Army Service Corps motorcycle display team rode on a solitary 500cc cast iron engined, Royal Enfield Bullet.
The Army team, called the ”Tornadoes”, broke the world record for the maximum number of people on a single motorcycle, by riding together for a distance of 1.1 km. This feat surpasses the previous world record achieved by another team of the Indian Army, called ‘SHWET ASHWA’ where 48 men rode another Royal Enfield Bullet.
Notably, the cast iron engine of the Royal Enfield Bullet remained bone stock for the world record breaking feat. This is yet another feather in the Royal Enfield Bullet’s long and illustrious existence as India’s most iconic and recognizable motorcycle.
The engine of RE Bullet had not gone through any changes as far as mechanism and power is concerned. Just some structure was developed to maintain balance and stand to carry 54 healthy men.
