Maruti Suzuki are preparing to regain some lost ground in the mid-size sedan segment with the launch of the Ciaz facelift. This model is expected to arrive in August-2018, which is a couple of months away from now. We can expect the Ciaz facelift to carry some changes and to be priced reasonably.
The spy shots taken show the rear of the model, without sporting any camouflage. There are LED projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights (DRL’s) spotted on the model. The tail-lamp layout of the car featuring LED DRL’s which is somewhat similar to the concept car showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo.
One major change will be the inclusion of a 1.5-litre petrol engine. This engine is capable of producing 106 BHP of power and 138 Nm of torque, coming with Suzuki’s Mild-hybrid SHVS tech. Other than these changes, we can expect the Ciaz facelift to carry largely the same bits seen on the current model.
The Ciaz will be sold through NEXA outlets across the country, which interestingly have increased its sales numbers of late. Rivals include the Honda City, Hyundai Verna and the recently launched Toyota Yaris. Maruti Suzuki will also look to regain the mid-size Sedan crown from its rivals with this model, so expect an interesting few months for the automaker.
