Suzuki Swift Sport launched in Australia, no plans for India

Suzuki Swift Sport 5-door - FrontView

The Japanese carmaker Suzuki has launched a performance variant of its Swift, called the Swift Sport in Australia. It is a five-door variant. The Swift Sport is claimed to be more fuel efficient, stylish and sophisticated car that will be priced around Rs.12.6 lakh and the CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) version will cost around Rs.13.6 lakh.

The high-class portfolio of the Swift Sport has been maintained by the stylish 17 inches alloy wheels, blacked-out A & B pillars, a deep front grille, Bi-xenon headlamps, a wider track with the new body kit, a composite rear diffuser and extra wide dual exhaust tips. Stepping inside, the elegant and quality upholstery offers rich sense of comfort and luxury.

The soft leather sports steering wheel, sports alloy pedals, gear shifter, start/stop button and comfy front sports seats add perfect touch of glamour to its interior. The other functional features include climate control air conditioning system, audio streaming, six speaker audio system, Bluetooth phone and USB connectivity, keyless entry & start and more.

Suzuki Swift Sport 5-door - RearView

The Swift Sport is powered by a  1.6 litre engine it delivers maximum power of 135hp and torque of 160Nm. This engine is coupled with a 6 speed manual transmission or an optional 7 speed CVT gearbox. The Suzuki Swift Sport has shed-down 30kg weight resulting in the enhanced overall engine performance and acceleration (0-100km/hr in 8.1 sec).

The front suspension & steering, bolstered rear pads and front brakes and advanced safety features provide better handling and smooth driving pleasure respectively.

Fiat India, though not participating in the 2012 Auto Expo, has launched their all new Punto hatchback earlier today in New Delhi for a base price of Rs 4.81 lacs (ex-showroom, New Delhi). 2012 Fiat Grande Punto is now available across all Fiat dealerships in India.
