At the 2012 Beijing Motor Show later this month, BMW will unveil the new long-wheelbase version of the new 3-Series sedan. The new model will start rolling of the assembly line at BMW’s new Shenyang production plant.

“With its wheelbase extended by 11 cm, a conspicuously elegant design, and the best rear seat travel comfort among the competition, this new model fulfils precisely the expectations of Chinese automobile customers,” BMW said in a statement.

It will be offered on three power trains, a 184 hp turbocharged 2.0 liter four cylinder, a 240 hp 2.8 liter and a 300 hp turbo 3.0 liter six cylinder.  All three will have the Li suffix as seen in the 7 Series long wheelbase so you will see the new 3 Series being named as 320Li, 328Li and 335Li while all models will be fitted with a powerful and highly efficient engine featuring BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology.
