The facelifted Elantra will get the brand’s signature Cascading grille seen on the Verna.

The Elantra facelift was wrapped-up in camouflage, and will get some mechanical updates not seen on the current model. We can also expect some additional features and aesthetic changes to take place in the car. The most prominent of them will be Hyundai’s latest cascading grille seen on the Verna.

It will feature revised headlamps with DRL’s and a new set of 17-inch alloy wheels seen on the test mule. On the rear, there will be reworked tail-lamps placed in a horizontal pattern. Coming to its interior, we can see a stand alone display with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, as the one on the facelifted Tucson.

Turn-indicators at the front and rear are believed to be relocated on the bumpers.

Engine-wise, the Elantra will employ the same 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine giving 152 BHP of power and 192 Nm of torque. There will also be a 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder CRDi diesel engine, capable of delivering 128 BHP of power and 260 Nm of torque. Both will come mated to a 6-speed gearbox, with manual and automatic being offered to choose between.

The Elantra facelift is expected to come at a starting price of Rs. 13 lakh and go all the way to Rs. 20 lakh. It will rival the likes of the Skoda Octavia, Toyota Corolla and the soon-to-be-launched Honda Civic. With the Elantra clocking decent sales numbers of late, Hyundai will look at this as the right time to bring the facelifted model to the Indian market.
