Volkswagen India has been testing 1.4-TSI petrol engine new Jetta for quite a long-time and has finally launched the car. The wait for the car was well worth as it features Volkswagen’s TSI engine that delivers high power, is compact in size and is fuel efficient. The petrol Jetta comes in two variants, the base Trendline, which is priced at Rs 13.60 lakh, and the Comfortline that costs Rs 15.07 lakh, (All prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
The 1.4-litre 4 Cylinder TSI engine generates a maximum output of 122 BHP @ 5000 RPM and maximum torque of 200 Nm @ 1500 – 4000 RPM. The performance oriented motor is mated to a smooth 6-speed Manual Transmission (MT).
The petrol Jetta upholds driving pleasure and fuel economy commitment. Better fuel efficiency is resultant of the combined usage of a Direct Petrol injection and intake of high compress air alongside a turbocharger. Apart from the appreciable fuel efficiency the engine is also known for delivering maximum torque both in low and high rev bands.
Buyers can make enquiries of now launched petrol Jetta at dealerships. However, the compact VW sedan will be sold from 1st July 2012 onwards. While the Jetta is the best equipped amongst the executive saloons, it is also the most expensive in its class.
