Toyota introduces Fortuner with a new 5-speed Automatic Transmission

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) today launched the new Fortuner AT that replaces the older 4-speed ‘box with a 5-speed automatic unit. The company also revealed that TRD Sportivo will now be available as a regular grade, and is no longer a limited edition. Furthermore, Toyota has also introduced an All New Pearl White Mica colour across all Foruner models in India.

Only available in the 4X2 variant, the TRD Sportivo can be had with a manual gearbox for Rs 21.96 lakh, while the new 5-speed gearbox equipped Fortuner AT in Sportivo trim will be available for Rs 22.93 lakh. (both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi). As for the vehicle’s availability, Toyota will start taking the bookings from 18th January onwards.

The 2013 Toyota Fortuner with a new transmission provides enhanced drive feel and comfort. This 5-speed automatic gearbox will continue to be sold with the tried and tested 3 Liter-4 cylinder D-4D turbo diesel engine good for 170 Bhp of peak power and 343 Nm of peak torque. And the Fortuner 4-speed AT is no longer on-sale in the market.
