Skoda India plans to re-launch new Octavia, to replace Laura in 2013

Skoda Octavia which now plans a comeback once again in the Indian car market, it is about to mark its return yet again in early 2013 and will replaced by existing Skoda Laura. Skoda India will bring its all-new highly acclaimed product codenamed ‘A7’ that will now be based on an innovative modular MQB platform, which is sourced from its parent company Volkswagen. The prototype of this New Octavia model is expected to be unveiled at 2013 Geneva Motor Show.

The new platform will be bigger as compared to the current Skoda Laura that presently earns decent sales along with counterpart Skoda Superb sedan. This piece of information is backed by Mr. Winfried Vahland’s statement at 2012 Delhi Auto Expo in which he had informed that, the company would certainly like to bring back the most sales-ticking sedan to India and he also shared a personal fact that he loves the name ‘Octavia’.

As soon as the Skoda launches the sedan in India it will dump the name Laura and will put back the tag of Octavia on the sedan.  With its initial launch in the year 2001, it actually introduced the Czech Republic based firm in India and conferred it with a golden platform to pursue further sales in the country. After which the Skoda India never looked back with the grandeur launches of its vehicles in the form of Skoda Laura, Skoda Superb, Skoda Rapid and Skoda Fabia hatchback along with Skoda Yeti SUV in the country.

After successfully raising the curtains off the new paint scheme during 11th Auto Expo 2012, legendary auto manufacturing company Yamaha has introduced two new color schemes on its two bikes named as WGP 50th Anniversary Edition and Fiery Red Special Edition which are launched as limited edition of Yamaha R15 V2.0. According to reports Yamaha has started booking of these bikes on its every outlet and has also published images of these limited edition bikes on OEM’s website page dedicated for Yamaha R15 V2.0. The price of limited edition of R15 WGP is Rs 1,11,000 (ex-showroom price in New Delhi) and price of Fiery Red scheme is Rs 1,10,000 (ex-showroom price in New Delhi). It is important to mention here that as these are limited editions bikes nothing much has been worked on enhancement of features and specifications except that of color scheme. That means technical features adorned in WGP 50th Anniversary Editions and Fiery Red Special Edition will carry the same features as showcased in their variants showcased during the 11th Auto Expo. Moving towards the major features adorned in Yamaha R15 V2.0 are concerned, it adorns 149.8cc liquid cooled 4 stroke, SOHC 4 valve, Single cylinder engine. Its engine is capable of churning the power of 17 PS at 8,500 rpm and torque of 15 Nm at 7,500 rpm. It is reported that Yamaha will launch this limited edition of bike only to few number limited to only 100 units. Besides these two bikes it is anticipated that soon Yamaha will be also launching its concept scooter Yamaha Ray soon on Indian roads. This scooter was showcased during auto expo 2012. Other scooters showcased during Auto Expo by Yamaha include Mio, Fino and Xeon scooters which at present are being sold in markets of Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam. So the enthusiast of Yamaha R15 V2.0, you have the chance to grab the opportunity of availing the benefit of riding your dream bike before the limited stock ends.
