Proving right to what we told, Nissan India today officially confirmed the launch of the Terrano is scheduled to be tomorrow on October 9 at Chennai. Unveiled in August-2013, the Nissan Terrano will come in with a total of 3 engine options, two diesel and 1 petrol, like its cousin Renault Duster. It is being produced from the Renault-Nissan plant in Chennai and will compete with both Renault Duster and Ford EcoSport.

According to the sources, Nissan Terrano will command a waiting period of 45 days once it has been launched in our market. As we told earlier, the bookings are already underway and can be made for a fully refundable payment of Rs. 50,000/- with the variant-wise features list also available for the prospective buyers to reserve their respective model.

The Nissan Terrano isn’t just a badge-engineered Renault Duster. An all-new front end, a new hatch lid and also various sheet metal changes to differentiate the Terrano’s design from that of the Duster. However, the Terrano does retain the overall shape and profile of the Duster, including the pronounced wheel arches. The rear side has been customized with split light system, followed by placement of half lights located at the bootlid.

On the inside, the Terrano comes with new interiors that seem to exude better quality that those of the Duster. Beige finish for the upholstery and the dashboard, along with wood inserts on the door and center console trims make the Terrano’s interiors seem more premium than those of the Duster. Other changes include a new steering wheel, a new music system and rectangular air conditioning vents.

Nissan Terrano will be offered in six exterior color options, which will include pearl white, blade silver, sapphire black, sterling grey, bronze grey and fire red and is believed to be priced about Rs. 50,000 more expensive than the equivalent Renault Duster.
