Last month, BMW India previewed the all-new 7-Series facelift sedan at the Jodhpur One World Retreat, a charity event headed by Maharaja Gaj Singh II of Jodhpur in the presence of Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar and other prominent personalities. Today, the company has launched the same in both the diesel and petrol versions, priced between Rs 92.9 lakh and Rs 1.73 crore (ex-showroom).

At the launch event in Mumbai, BMW India launched a total of four variants of 2013 7-Series, they include 1 diesel and 3 petrol. The company also revealed that the diesel variant of new 7-Series, 730Ld will be manufactured locally at their plant in Chennai, whereas, the remaining three petrol variants will be offered as CBUs.

The 2013 BMW 7-Series has received changes both inside and out, making it look very refreshed. Mechanically too, the car has got better, while the diesel powered version now has more power, the petrol version has been claimed to have got 21 per cent more efficient. Both the versions now come mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, while the previous generation 7-Series had the 7-speed gearbox.

The current model which had some lapses, have now been resolved in the updated 7-Series. The changes in the new 7-Series includes upgraded interior with optimised soundproofing, improved ride comfort, new Adaptive LED headlights, and state-of-the-art safety technology. The new 7-Series has also received a new grille and front bumper, redesigned tail lamps, wing mirrors with integrated turn indicators and some other changes.

The rear-end of the car too gets new tail lamps, newly styled bumpers and a thick chrome strip flowing across the bootlid. The 2013 BMW 7-Series gets a new digital display for dials and an optional 10.25 inch LCD display for the iDrive system and 3D navigation maps.
