After failing with the Ray-Z scooter, this is Yamaha India’s second attempt to grab the male fans, who prefer a scooter over a bike. The Ray-ZR too is essentially a sportier derivative of the Ray-Z with a more expressive design. It comes equipped with a telescopic fork front suspension, under seat storage of 21 litres, an analogue instrument cluster and tubeless tyres.

Under the skin, the Ray-ZR gets a familiar 113cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 4-stroke, 2-valve engine which also powers the Alpha and Ray-Z. Developing 7.1 BHP and 8.1 Nm of torque through a continuously variable transmission (CVT), this engine comes with Yamaha’s proprietary BlueCore technology.Yamaha claims that it can return a fuel efficiency of 66 kpl.
