In June-2013, the first test mule of the scooter was spotted in Bangalore wearing camouflage, the name of the new TVS scooter comes from the Jupiter planet which is the largest in our solar system. TVS claims the Jupiter to be a male specific scooter, while shall attract both the male as well as female riders. Jupiter is based on companies Wego, however, the scooter has got more of everything – power, mileage and comfort.

Under the skin, the Jupiter comes with the same tried and tested 110cc engine which does duty on the Wego, which generates maximum power of 8 Bhp @ 7500 rpm with maximum torque of 8 Nm @ 5500 rpm and has a V-matic transmission. The scooter gets viscous paper filter and electric start is standard. One can kick start while sitting. TVS claims that Jupiter comes with a turning radius of 1910mm which is the least in class.

(Promoting carriage of dangerous LPG cylinders 🙁 ). The Jupiter comes with a fuel-filler located at the rear of the scooter, ensuring you don’t have to get off and hold the seat-up when tanking up at a petrol station.
