Triumph Tiger 800 XR launched in India – Priced at Rs. 10.5 lakh

UK-based premium bike-maker, Triumph motorcycles had launched the Tiger 800 XR motorcycle in India at a price of Rs. 10,50,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It comes with a 2-year, unlimited mileage factory warranty.

The Tiger 800 XR belongs to the Triumph’s adventure range of motorcycles, under the Tiger brand and slotted below the XRx and XCx. It is powered by an 800cc, inline 3-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 94 BHP @ 9,520 rpm and 79 Nm of torque @ 7,850 rpm, paired to a 6-speed gearbox.

The Tiger 800 XR is equipped with features like traction control and ride-by-wire technology, which makes it a very advanced motorcycle in the respective segment. Other features include a 19-litre fuel tank, switchable ABS, trip computer, hazard lights, sump guard, 12V power supply outlet and a height-adjustable seat. Being an entry-level model, the Tiger XR misses-out the electronics package such as riding modes & cruise control.

The Tiger XR rides on a 19-inch cast aluminium wheel at the front and a 17-inch unit at the rear. It has a SHOWA 43mm upside down fork suspension at the front with 180 mm travel, which give it the ability to tackle any kind of road. The rear gets an SHOWA mono-shock suspension with 170mm rear wheel travel with hydraulically adjustable preload, providing better comfort on long rides. Braking duties are performed by twin 308 mm and single 255 mm disc brakes at the front and rear respectively.
