The structurally improved Tata Zest recieved 4-Stars in adult occupant safety

In basic form without airbags, the Zest was given a zero-star rating. Global NCAP then gave Tata Motors an opportunity to send an improved version of the Zest with more safety features. Thus, the company now sent a structural improved model that came equipped with two airbags and two seatbelt pretensioners, which performed significantly better.

The new improved model scored four stars for adult occupant protection, and scored two stars for child occupant protection, compared to the 1 star rating earned by the basic version. The company has also stated that the structural improvements made to the crash test model will soon be incorporated into the production model.

The Global NCAP has advised Tata Motors to make dual airbags a standard offering across all variants of the Zest.
