Spied – Tata Safari Storme spotted without camouflage in Pune (video)

The much awaited Sports Utility Vehicles in the Indian market, Tata Safari Strome is expected to be launched in the country very soon. The SUV enthusiasts in the India have been eagerly waiting for the roll-out of this vehicle since the company had first showcased it at the Delhi International Auto Expo in the starting of this year.

Now the same has been spotted doing the final rounds without any camouflage. It has been spotted by IndianAutosBlog reader Ashutosh Pranjpe in Pune and has managed to film one of the test cars on the road. It has been a very long time since Tata Motors began testing the Stome SUV and now it is a perfect time to launch, has alternative to the waiting customers of the Mahindra XUV500.

The major highlight of Tata Safari Storme is it’s awesome off road capability, which might make it the best SUV in town. The SUV will be carrying a body-on-ladder frame structure which is quite different as compared to Mahindra XUV 500’s monocoque structure. The new Tata Safari Storme SUV will come with 4×4 gearbox, which lacks in XUV 500.

Under the hood, it will be blessed with 2.2 litre of DICOR common rail turbo diesel engine is expected to be retained in the upcoming models also, delivering a peak power of 140 bhp along with a peak torque of 320 Nm. However, the transmission system (G76 Mark II five speed gearbox) of the vehicle will to be completely upgraded for better performance.

The Safari Storme carries a number of changes on both exterior and interior as well, cosmetic and designing fronts. The trademark tailgate mounted spare wheel will now be residing on floor pan of rear portion. Other major changes at the exterior include newly designed grill, projector headlamps and bumper at front, a wider side foot step, etc. Inside, the major upgrades include new steering borrowed from Aria MUV, newly designed dashboard and central console and many more.
