Spied – Nissan Urvan caught testing in Chennai

Nissan Urvan - FrontView

Nissan India seems to be serious about passenger vehicle segment in India, after the recent launch of Nissan Evalia MPV now they have been caught testing this van called as Urvan. The Urvan is sold as commercial cargo mover as well as micro bus with seating configurations ranges from 8-seater to 14-seater in Asian markets.

Thanks to AutoCarIndia reader who has managed to snap the Nissan Urvan while on a trail-run at Chennai. It is believed that company would wait to see the response of Evalia MPV before generating it ventures into another utility type of a vehicle but looking at this spy pictures we think Nissan has no patience to wait for the report.

We doubt, the Urvan could be commercial vehicle rather than a personal vehicle because of its size and dimensions along with a big seating capacity. Once launched in India, it will directly compete with the likes of Tata Winger and some extent with Force Traveller.

In the Philippines market, the Urvan comes with a 3.0-litre 4 cylinder diesel engine putting out 105 horsepower and 209 Nm of torque. However, don’t expect this vehicle to be powered by a 1.5-litre K9K turbo diesel engine that is already tried and test in other prominent cars like Nissan Micra, Nissan Sunny, Nissan Evalia, Renault Duster, Renault Pulse, Renault Scala, Renault Fluence and Mahindra Verito.

More details of Nissan Urvan is unknown at the moment, let us wait for some official confirmation from Nissan India.
