2016 Auto Expo Live: Isuzu D-Max V-Cross showcased

Isuzu now at the 2016 Auto Expo unveiled India’s first ever 4×4 utility vehicle, it is the second-generation D-Max pickup truck called the V-Cross. It will compete with the likes of the Tata Xenon and Mahindra’s recently launched Imperio.

The D-Max V-Cross will be available in the double cab version only. It will be made available in both 4×4 and 4×2 variants and is dubbed as a rugged go anywhere personal utility vehicle. The vehicle was spotted road testing last-week in Chennai and the vehicle is expected to be available by the second half of 2016.

The facelifted D-Max sees several visual updates to the pick-up truck including reworked front fascia with a more aggressive grille design, restyled LED “tube” headlights with integrated daytime running lights and new 16-inch wheels. It gets a new 2.5-litre 4-cylinder engine making 136PS of max power and 320Nm of peak torque.

 
Commenting on the launch, Isuzu Motors Ltd., said –

 “The D-MAX’s unique feature is its extended cabin space of 1.5 feet behind the driver’s’ seat, which can store valuable/ fragile goods. It also offers significant features like power steering, power windows, centralized door lock, etc., making it ideal for commercial use in industries like Agriculture, Retail, Dairy, Engineering, Manufacturing and Small businesses.”
