Volkswagen Polo recalls 389 vehicles over handbrake-mechanism issue

Earlier today we posted that Volkswagen India has temporary put-hold the deliveries of the Polo. Now the company has officially announced 389 units of the Polo hatchback.

The Polo has recalled a single batch of production from the month of September-2015 for inspection and preventive repair of the handbrake mechanism. The Quality Assurance department of Volkswagen India has determined that under certain conditions, the handbrake mechanism would lose effectiveness.

Further stressing on the point, the analysis performed by the Volkswagen India has shown that a batch of handbrake cable retention levers in the rear brake liner might break under certain conditions.

And the company is said to resume the deliveries, after the inspection and preventive repair of each car is completed.
