Most anticipated launch of the year is undoubtedly the launch of the new Maruti Suzuki Swift is scheduled for 17th August, 2011. When I was buzzing round the internet I found some teaser video of the new 2011 Swift. The video shows a glace on the steering wheel and the dashboard design and promises that the car is roomier and bigger than the current model.
Refresher – The new Swift which would be available in 6 variants, including a ZDi variant would be positioned as a premium vehicle against the likes of the Volkswagen Polo and Hyundai i20. Reports suggest, the new Swift will cost around 30,000 rupees more than the old model. The new Swift has already clocked over 38000 units of bookings before the launch.
The outgoing model will be replaced by an all-new Swift (codename: YP8). The Swift was first unveiled by Suzuki in 2005 and soon became an instant hit in India. Now, Suzuki had unveiled the 3rd generation Suzuki Swift last year in Hungary. The 3rd generation Swift is slightly larger than the present one. Extensive higher strength steel has been used to make bodyshell lighter and stiffer.
